November 2011 update gallery

A selection of photographs taken on recent client-commissioned assignments.

1) Ken Yeang’s DiGi Technology Operation Centre in Malaysia
2) MKPL’s Skypark apartment building
3) RT + Q’s Setangkai Residence.

Also below are photographs of WOHA’s School of the Arts Singapore (SOTA). WOHA’s use of massing, materials, textures, and the creation of a stepped outdoor public area, caught my interest.

Designed by T.R. Hamzah & Yeang, the four-storey DiGi Technology Operation Centre is in Subang High Tech Park, some 16 kilometers south west of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. DiGi is one of the main mobile telephone service providers in Malaysia. The building’s eco design features include an exterior planted wall that wraps around the building, filtering air entering the offices and data centre rooms.

A future home for animal and bird life, the green wall reduces solar gain and offsets the heat island effect. Other features also include solar sun-shading; rainwater capture for plant irrigation; green materials made from bio-waste; and photovoltaic panels on the roof.
