Lastly, for your information
NAFA is showing the first major exhibition in Singapore of master photographer Brassai (22 October – 18 December 2011, 11am – 7pm). Ten years ago, I wrote an exhibition review for Blueprint (http://robertsuch.com/portfolio/2011/11/brassai-exhibition-review-blueprint/), the UK architecture and design magazine. At that time, Brassai’s photographs were on show at the Pompidou Centre and the Hayward Gallery.
Out of the 84 original prints on show in the NAFA gallery, the ones that made me pause a few moments longer were Paves Parisiens, Parisian cobblestones (1931); Neige Snow (1932); Notre Dame (1931); Porteur de viande, Meat carrier (1935); Facade (1936); and Le poele, The stove (1939), a portrait of Picasso.
